Playing with words and symbols to create new meanings
Jennifer Hamilton earned a B.F.A. in Visual Art at Queen’s University, in 2003 and a M.L.I.S. in Librarianship from McGill University in 2010.
In her art practice Hamilton is best known for her ephemeral art in the form of installations, printed publications, posters and stencilled drawings. She plays with words and symbols to create new meanings, asks questions and resurrects dead languages. She has exhibited extensively in Montreal and across Canada in group and solo shows.
The artist also publishes WAY magazine, which focuses on spiritualism and world religion.
